The book Sabores e Saberes do Ceará is a reunion of mine with the state where I was born. A personal and professional achievement, at a very peculiar moment in Ceará, when it is culturally rediscovered and projecting itself in the national panorama.
More than a cookery book, Flavors and Knowledge of Ceará, it is a cultural and historical record of the way of being from Ceará that goes through the act of "making the de-comer", transmitted spontaneously from generation to generation, to the delight of our memory.
To understand this broad universe, nothing better than taking a closer look - even if it is often subjective, differentiated, expanding the details and cutting out this universe. With the camera in hand, we travel the extremes of our state. We lost our breath between dunes by the sea, we trounced in the endless hinterlands of the sertão, we were surprised by the beauty of the mountains, attentive to everything that appeared before the lens, photographing men, women and children; parties, fairs and rituals.
This enchantment obtained and registered, in each chat over coffee and hospitality in the kitchens of Ceará, is a fragment of those Flavors and Knowledge that we bring here through our images, narratives and culinary recipes. Thus, we can serve you as an unforgettable feast, seasoned with the faith, joy and wisdom of our people.
