Preamble

1988 - 2020

In the last few months, due to social isolation, all of us, in one way or another, made a trip to the “inner self” in an attempt to reinvent ourselves in the face of this new normal and that is what I have been doing most lately: revisiting my old ones files.

From the perspective of this “time portal”, I looked at a series of analog photos, taken 32 years ago. When I revisited them, it gave me the feeling that they were asleep to be re-signified.

The year 1988, 32 years ago, was marked by a positive outlook with the promulgation of the country's new constitution, in which civil rights were being re-established after a long period of rights hampered by the military dictatorship.

In 2020, with the emergence of this virus, a new social order is established and we realize that our weaknesses have been put to the test again. We went back to living behind the masks, as in a snippet of obscure times, we felt the manipulation and political crumpling of our bodies as if they were a simple piece of discarded paper, that is, bodies without the fundamental guarantees provided for in the constitution.

It is a fact, that it was due to this period of exception and introspection lived in these 06 months, that this essay survived and showed itself to me as a contemporary subject, bringing with it its marks.
